Children and Youth

Our mission statement

"To provide a welcoming and joyful environment for parents and children from across our parish that, from the earliest opportunity, will enable them to begin a journey of faith, which will develop deep roots, and which will endure through adulthood. Children will grow up understanding their great value within our community and discern their God-given gifts, as they participate fully in the life of the church. "

We're delighted that our church has such close links with Holy Trinity School next door, and you can find out more here.

Below you'll find information about our other weekday and Sunday activities for children and young people.

There is always a welcome and provision for children and young people in our church community. We recognise that they are an important part of our community and church for both the present and the future!

Families and children are provided for in worship in a variety of ways. Below is our normal pattern, although there are some seasonal variations, so please check our church calendar for up-to-date information:

All Age Service of Communion - 1st Sunday of each month and some Festivals

Our all-age service seek to bring together our whole community for worship in church. Using our new AV-system, these services are a mixture of traditional and contemporary, with interactive elements and times of reflection.

10am Parish Communion - Sundays other than the 1st of the month (seasonal exceptions)

Our regular 10am Sunday services are supported by the Holy Trinity Choir on the 2nd and 4th Sunday and many other volunteers every week.  Most of our young people begin these services together with the adults in church.  After the welcome and before the first hymn, the service leader  prays for our young people and thier group leaders, before they leave for thier activities (during the first hymn). The young people return after the peace to join their families to recieve communion.

Currently we have a single group for young people that uses the Church Hall for a fun-packed mixture of games and crafts, Bible stories, songs, prayer and activities.   Normally this is linked to one of the bible texts being explored in church at the same time, so both parts of the congregation are examining the same themes.

Creshe Area (Kingdom Corner)

Children of any age are always welcome in the Church for any service.  For our youngest children the creshe area (Kingdom Corner) at the north-west corner of the church (the back on the left as you face the high altar) is equipped as a play and activity area for parents with babes and toddlers.

Youth Club - Every Sunday (Term Time) 5-7pm during term time

Meeting in the Hall and/or Parish Rooms Youth Club is for young people in years 6 and above.  We meet for fun, food and friendship. Led by a group of volunteers. . Contact youth@htnorthwood.co.uk to find out more or join the WhatsApp group (for parents and youth).

Toddler Club

Holy Trinity Toddler Club runs during term time on Thursdays from 09:30 to 11:00. This is run by a dedicated group of local parents and provides toys and fruit snacks for the children and coffee/biscuits for the adults (there is a small fee to take part).  Members of the ministry team support the toddler group each week, offering a time of story and song in the hall, before the end of each session.
