The Family Service Band
This is an adult group that uses a basic rock band
instrumentation, with some additional instruments. Most of the
instruments are electronic which gives the music a specific flavour.
They perform on a regular basis at the Family Service, which takes
place on the first Sunday of every month in the church hall. Their
style of playing perfectly complements the more informal style of
worship used at this service. In addition to the Family Services,
there are many other opportunities in the church’s liturgical and
social calendar to hear this band play.
The Encounter Band
Although set up to accompany the Encounter Services which take
place on the third Sunday of each month in the church hall, the
Encounter Band is rapidly developing and taking on additional roles
in the musical life of the church. There are plans for them to join
together with the Junior Choir for special services, as well as to
bring them into musical worship in the church more frequently than
in the past.
This band is mostly made up of older children and young adults,
therefore the instrumentation is quite varied and flexible.
