15 November 2008 - Retro! At the Ritz

The Church Hall throbbed to the sound of Live Music when Big Bill + The Write-Offs made a return visit on 15th November.

The evening started with canapés, expertly prepared and served by SHAPE and SEEKERS, then smoothly the guests took their seats to enjoy a delicious meal thanks to the Boultbee, Bowen, Cotterell and Hamwjik families with help from various pastry chefs.

Unfortunately, Northwood’s own Luvverly Brothers were not able to play this time but Caroline and Michael Coates provided the traditional balloon arch and decorations. The raffle was held, the auction took place and the themed fancy dress parade (the 1920s) saw some gorgeous costumes.

The evening was great fun and after having danced the night away, everyone retired having raised more than £800 for Mengo Hospital in Uganda.

An enormous thank you is owed to everybody who set up, decorated, cooked, served on the bar, cleared up, washed up, too numerous to mention but whose efforts are greatly appreciated.
